To start with the recruitment team at John Lewis are looking for TEAM WORK. The first task is a group task. You are sat in small groups of around 6 applicants, first you get the John Lewis story. Following this you are asked to introduce yourself to your table/group and ask questions of other people (ask “what do you do out of work?” “what made you attend today?” “are you currently studying?”)

This first tasked is completed with a John Lewis recruitment team member observing and taking notes, which is why you need to ask questions to the other applicants. The second stage of the group task is to build a lego house within your team. You need to get stuck in with task and encourage others to join in, as again you are being marked on this task to see how interactive you are.

This is then followed by a one to one job interview:
